About Ethereum (ETH)
Ethereum is a Proof-of-Stake blockchain that allows decentralized apps (dApps) to function without being governed by a single body by use of smart contracts. With the greatest ecosystem of decentralized applications, including decentralized exchanges, cryptocurrency lending and borrowing platforms, and more, this is the first blockchain with smart contracts.
Many Layer 2 solutions that give users a quicker and less expensive way to process transactions on the blockchain are also available on Ethereum. Several alternatives have been proposed, such as Polygon's Proof-of-Stake chain that functions as a sidechain parallel to the Ethereum blockchain and Arbitrum, which combines several Ethereum transactions into a single transaction.
