Dogecoin is a cryptocurrency with a Shiba Inu in its logo that was developed on December 6th, 2013 and is based on the well-known "Doge" Internet meme. The project's core was a fork of Litecoin, therefore it had many of the same characteristics, including the hashing algorithm; the main distinctions were the high inflationary supply and branding.

A notable feature of Dogecoin is its laid-back and enjoyable community. However, this has a drawback as well, similar to other meme coins, in that other currencies are regarded as more legitimate.
